Israeli forces attacked and injured, on Friday, at least 83 Palestinian protesters during weekly demonstrations against the ongoing illegal Israeli colonization of the occupied West Bank, the Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) announced.
The local director of the PRCS, Ahmed Jibril, in a statement, said that in Beita town, southeast of Nablus in the northern West Bank, five young men were shot with rubber-coated steel rounds, including an international solidarity activist.
Five demonstrators suffered fall related injuries, two from burns, and at least 62 protesters suffered the toxic effects of tear gas inhalation.
Jibril added that nine protesters suffocated on tear gas at the weekly demonstration in Beit Dajan village, located east of Nablus.
Furthermore, he stated that the Israeli forces blockaded the roads leading to the gathering sites, which obstructed the ambulance crews’ ability to assist the injured, a common tactic used by the occupation forces.
